Our educational standards

How we develop and review our content.

POA Caregiver™ resources are developed for educational purposes and reviewed using applicable state statutes, government resources, and professional guidance. Content is periodically reviewed and updated as laws and resources change.

What that means

  • We write in plain language for the person actually carrying the role, not for lawyers.
  • We ground our guidance in primary sources — state statutes and official government resources — and in professional guidance, rather than opinion.
  • Each article shows a “Last reviewed” date and the sources it was reviewed against.
  • Because Power of Attorney law varies by state and changes over time, we tell readers to confirm specifics with an official source or a licensed professional in their state.

POA Caregiver™ is not a law firm and does not provide legal, medical, tax, or financial advice, and reviewing our materials does not create an attorney–client relationship. Our content is education; it is not a substitute for advice from a licensed professional about your specific situation. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency or the organizations listed above.
